News clippings — January 2007

January 1, 2007 by Tara Brabazon

What a great month for our researchers. Mike Kent has produced a terrific article in AQ. I'm so impressed by it that I immediately placed it in my course at Brighton. He does something incredibly courageous. He tells the truth about the Australian university sector and the waste of talent that is currently left in the casualised workforce. It was a remarkable piece, a pleasure to read and — what we love in the PCC — incredibly courageous.

Ever creative Leanne McRae has just had her article in the History of Intellectual Culture released. Interviewing Steve Redhead, she tells a new story of cultural studies, offering an innovative shape to the field. Leanne's work has also been accepted in the journal The Julie Mango, in their special edition on education. Well done Leanne.

Also, as a final piece of news. Debbie Hindley is developing a new series of projects around extreme sport. This area will be progressing through the subsequent months. We look forward to continue to see Debbie's research innovation.

What a great month. Three great scholars — three great people — moving the boundaries of knowledge.

See you in February
