So much fantastic news has emerged through the month. While in April I will reporting on many of our members' research projects in progress, I wanted to celebrate some endings — and new beginnings.

Firstly, congratulations to Angela Thomas-Jones — our extraordinary editor — and Debbie Hindley — our Tackling Sport convenor. Both have graduated from their Doctor of Philosophy this month. They were remarkable scholars during their candidature, and are continue to achieve, challenge and question the boundaries of scholarship. Here is a terrific picture of Debbie in full gown.

Dr Debbie Hindley

My regret was that I could not be with you both. However you know how inspired I remain by you both as women and scholars. Although separated in space, we remain together in our goals for better and more socially just scholarship.

It is also my great pleasure to inform the Collective that Nick Chinna has graduated with First Class Honours. Examiners acknowledged the breadth and interdisciplinarity of his scholarship. He is currently enrolled in a PhD at Murdoch University, and I am certain that his success and quality research will continue to be rewarded.

Our final news for the month involves one of our star scholars and writers. Dr Christina Lee has had a fantastic article on Molly Ringwald accepted for publication in the Cultural Studies Review. It is a remarkable article and a great journal. I recommend to members to seek out this piece. Her remarkable writing and innovative research methods are rewarding to all those who read her work.

A great month it was. Let's look forward to April!
