Greetings to members and lurkers.

2005, I hope, will be better for the planet than 2004. There was so much sadness, war and destruction. It seemed horrifically appropriate that 2004 ended with a Tsunami that crashed through the lives of over two hundred thousand people. The scale of tragedy — the nightmarish darkness — has left me reassessing so much of what we take for granted each day.

I made a decision at the start of this month that all the work I do this year — the writing, the teaching and our Collective business — must be of the highest standards. Mediocrity, banality and ineptitude are no longer acceptable. One of the aims of the PCC was to increase the quality of popular culture and the commentary about it. Never has this goal been more important. I am so proud of the writing and creative productions from members. We have fine DJs and producers, film makers and sonic media specialists. I thank you for your courage, energy and passion. We have so many opportunities — to work with such great people. Let us make sure we use this time. 2005 is our opportunity to make things better.

Be well — much love to you all.
