January 3, 2009 by DJ Enrico

On the 8 February 2005 I sent my first demo of 2005 to Triple J; hopefully looking to get it played on their 'Club Foote' show on Saturday nights. It is by far my best demo as I have been practicing my mixing and making it more seamless and emotional.

I believe this is not going to fall into my lap. I have the desire, the will, the knowledge and most importantly the HEART. I will make it as a DJ. All I desire in life is to be able to make money from my music.

My most memorable DJ-ing experience yet was playing at the Rise 'Back to the Big Room 1'. I dropped a track and the entire crowd had their hands raised and started singing along. I stood behind the decks with my hands raised in the air feeling the happiness my music was giving people. From then on all I have wanted is to feel that again.

Whilst DJ Pulser was in Perth we chatted and I asked him how it felt to have his track 'My Religion' (one of the most beautiful tracks I have ever heard) as the theme for 'Gods Kitchen Global Gathering' (The biggest trance event in the world). He said AVB dropped the track and he walked out onto the stage to see 50,000 people, all hands raised. He said he has never felt anything like the emotion that he felt as the crowd responded to his song; so strong that he could not name it. I suppose it was rapture (emotional ecstasy) a feeling of which I'm yet to feel but that I long to experience.

My fellow culture collective: I finish with these words: The future belongs to those who believe in the power of their dreams. If you can imagine it, it can be done.

There are no rules — just follow the music.
